Alannah and The Pictish Stone

Alannah was a normal 11 year old until her mother wins the holiday of a lifetime in a competition. The problem was that the holiday was only for two. Deciding to let her mother and father take she goes to stay with her aunt, uncle and cousin at their farm in the north east of Scotland. When her cousin goes back to school Alannah takes one of the dogs for a walk in the nearby woods, where she finds a large upright stone with peculiar markings and that is where her adventures start.
